The inaugural exhibition at Barovier&Toso ARTE entitled Glass Art in Dialogue / Arte del vetro in dialogo is the spokesperson of the new gallery in Murano, whose mission is to promote the knowledge of glass as an autonomous means of expression in the context of contemporary art. The protagonists of the exhibition are Marija Jaensch and Amy Thai, two artists who have already collaborated on the occasion of the 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, participating in the collective project H2O Venezia: Diari d'acqua / Water Diaries, a tribute to the city and its natural environment. With Glass Art in Dialogue / Arte del vetro in dialogo, Jaensch and Thai have experimented for the first time with glass and the immeasurable artisanal heritage of Murano. Thanks to the collaboration with the glass Masters, the artists have experimented with new expressive methods, incorporating glass into their poetics. The exhibition brings together the glass works born from this experience with those already presented in H2O Venezia: Diari d’acqua / Water Diaries and new unpublished pieces, triggering an interaction between shapes and materials, between glass, stone and fabric, in a dynamic reference of stylistic and poetic solutions.
