The “living” sculptures by Sergio Monari

The solo exhibition of the sculptor Sergio Monari presented by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia at the Museo Fortuny ventures into the territories of sculpture, revealing the particular sensitivity of the Bolognese artist for matter and three-dimensionality, as well as his profound knowledge of classical antiquity and his marked aptitude for updating universal themes. Poetry, love, glory, war, destiny, time, vanity, death materialize in a sort of remote, yet at the same time ever new, narration, thanks to an installation that unfolds between chapters with human features, to express impulses, aspirations, doubts and fears. Sincronie, curated by Niccolò Lucarelli, is a sort of human comedy composed of statues endowed with an extraordinary narrative power that speaks of the universal history of menkind through marble and bronze.
